JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - A Laurel woman was arrested and charged with defrauding after the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program of more than $70,000.

Mississippi Department of Human Services investigators said that 44-year-old Yadera Cabellero did not report household income or the composition of the household accurately.

MDHS referred the case to Jones County District Attorney Brad Thompson, whose office secured an indictment for Cabellero on June 24.

Cabellero was arrested by Jones County Sheriff’s Department deputies on July 10. She bonded out of the Jones County Adult Detention Center on July 11.

All information regarding her arrest was released to the media on Aug. 7.
