HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Little League World Series (LLWS) begins this month, and the Honolulu Little League is looking to make another title-winning run.
On Thursday, the club run by Gerald Oda won the West Region Tournament in San Bernardino, California, defeating Southern California 4-1.
A snapped bat and a quick grab by pitcher Mason Mitani sealed the victory for Honolulu in dramatic fashion.
Now they’re headed to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for a third LLWS appearance in seven years.
“Just very happy and proud for these kids,” Oda told Hawaii News Now. “They play their hearts out.”
