A row over a Bank of Ireland plan to increase mandatory office days for staff has escalated.

The bank is changing its hybrid working rules so employees will have to work a minimum of two days a week, or eight days a month, in the office from ­September 1.

But the Financial Services Union (FSU) has issued a directive to members that instructs them to continue their current working practices. It said the September start date will not
