LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. — In observance of Purple Heart Day, Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity returned a Purple Heart Medal to the son of a late Vietnam War Veteran.

Joined by Senator Chris Gebhard (R-48) and Representative JoAnne Stehr (R-107), Garrity returned the medal to the son of the late Ray Alvin Morgan, a U.S. Army veteran wounded during the Vietnam War, during a ceremony at Fort Indiantown Gap on Thursday.

The Treasury came into possession of the Purple Heart Medal as part of the 2023 unclaimed property report. It has been safeguarded in the Treasury's vault since then.
