An Edinburgh brawl broke out in the West End and lasted 'around half an hour'.

The incident happened at around 6pm on Shandwick Place , and reportedly saw emergency services called to the scene. It's understood four police cars and an ambulance were at the incident.

The condition of those involved is not currently known. An image from the scene shows two men, with one seemingly holding the other down in front of stunned pedestrians and their dogs near a Sainsbury's store.

Jamie Gordon, who witnessed the rammy, told Edinburgh Live: "Fight at Shandwick Place a few hours ago, went on for around half an hour.

"Four police cars and an ambulance came about 20 minutes later."

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
