Driver Escapes Fiery Rollover Crash on County Road 22

Just before midnight Wednesday, a single-vehicle crash on County Road 22 left one person injured. Authorities say the vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and caught fire.

The driver was able to escape the wreckage before the flames could cause additional harm. Emergency medical personnel from Atrium Floyd EMS treated the victim at the scene before transporting them to the helipad at Atrium Floyd Cherokee. From there, the patient was flown by life flight to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.

Spring Creek Fire Chief Jamey Walker told WEIS Radio News that his department arrived quickly, extinguished the blaze, and assisted an Alabama State Trooper on the scene.
