It’s been just over 24 hours since Jabari Peoples’ family saw the video of his last moments, and activists are still demanding that their demands be met. Black Lives Matter Grassroots Birmingham and other supporters took to the picket line across the street from the Homewood Police Department with signs and chants to call for justice on Thursday.
The family, supporters and activists said they were disappointed by the video that was shared with the family by Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr. The family claims they only saw part of the video, and it doesn’t give full context to what led up to Peoples being shot by a Homewood police officer.
