Brits could have more scorching weather later this month with a potential five-day heatwave of temperatures up to 36C.

So far, August has been mixed, with the recent Storm Florish bringing strong winds and heavy rains, especially in the northern parts of the country. Sunshine and showers are expected this weekend, with temperatures to climb from next week, The Mirror reports.

WXCharts map shows a five-day period from August 19 to 23 where temperatures could reach 36C. The map shows a dark red where it peaks on August 23, and the warmest parts are in the southeast of England.

At midday on August 23, central and southern England will experience temperatures in the 30s, while northern England will reach the high 20s. On August 22, temperatures are set to be the highest across the country,
