A 16-year-old boy was injured after police said he was shot while standing in the doorway of a home in North Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, officers were called to the Johnson Homes on N. 27th St. shortly before midnight on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, after receiving a report of a shooting.

Small said that when police got to the scene, they found a 16-year-old boy suffering from a graze wound to his forehead. He was rushed to an area hospital and placed in stable condition.

The boy was standing with another teen when someone fired more than a dozen shots in their direction, according to Small. One of the bullets broke the window to the front
