Salem Regional Medical Center has named registered nurse Dan Imhoff its fifth DAISY Award winner.

The award was created in mid-2024 by family members of patient J. Patrick Barnes, to recognize outstanding nurses across the country. The aim is to honor those who go above and beyond in providing compassionate care throughout a patient’s care journey.

Imhoff, a longtime registered nurse in SRMC’s Emergency Department, was nominated by an emergency room patient.

“Dan has been nominated for this award seven times since our program began a year ago,” said Leigh Knife, director of nursing at SRMC. “He is consistently recognized by his coworkers for his outstanding work ethic, compassionate demeanor and support for his patients during a very difficult time.”
