Public engagement for the region’s initial business case for Ion Stage 2 begins this month.

Five options, including full and partial routes as well as rapid bus service, will be evaluated, followed by a final report to council with recommendations on route length and vehicle type, expected in November.

Six workshops will be held with stakeholders and community groups and other pop-ups, virtual and in-person sessions are planned so residents can ask questions, says a report going to the region’s sustainability, infrastructure and development committee next week.

The first public engagement session is planned for Thursday, Aug. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Pinebush Station (Pinebush and Hespeler roads). A list of other planned sessions can be found at engagewr.ca/stage2ION .
