KINGSTON – The Ulster County 911 Center and the New York State Bridge Authority are going to institute a plan to speedup communications when emergencies occur on the bridges over the Hudson River.
County Emergency Management Director Everett Erichsen said a direct link will be established for access to bridge authority cameras.
“This is a memorandum of understanding with the New York State Bridge Authority for access to cameras on the bridges throughout Ulster County. When calls come in they give access to our 911 center, which can then monitor what is actually occurring on the bridge itself and relay that information directly to the first responders,” he said.
