MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. — Two South Carolina corrections officers are recovering after being attacked and stabbed at a state prison, officials say.
The South Carolina Department of Corrections said the stabbing happened on Thursday at Evans Correctional Institution in Marlboro County. The agency said the officers were treated and released from a local medical facility, and their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The prison system didn't name the prisoner accused of the stabbing or describe what led up to it. However, that person is being moved to another prison as the investigation continues.
