SEATTLE — Rookie quarterback Cam Miller threw a 41-yard touchdown pass in his NFL preseason debut Thursday night with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Rookie linebacker Jalan Gaines blocked a 55-yard field-goal attempt by Las Vegas' Daniel Carlson on the final play of regulation, and host Seattle survived for a tie in the preseason opener for both teams.

Miller, the former North Dakota State quarterback, finished 6 of 7 for 76 yards. Las Vegas overcame a 10-point deficit in the final 10 minutes on a 41-yard touchdown pass from Miller to Shedrick Jackson and then a 51-yard field goal from Carlson with 1:12 to go.

Geno Smith started behind center for the Raiders and went 1 of 3 for 15 yards on his lone drive. Aidan O'Connell connected on 18 of 30 passes for 205 yards and a score with two intercepti
