DES MOINES, Iowa — "Bud," a massive 3,110-pound Angus bull, claimed the top prize at the Super Bull Contest during the 2025 Iowa State Fair.
The bull is owned by Mark Till and John and Bridget Costello from Maquoketa.
Marvin Spear of Indianola secured second place with "Rampage," a 2,760-pound Angus bull, while Marc Weitl from Templeton took third with "Big Beaver," a 2,720-pound Charolais bull.
"Bud" will be on display at the Cattle Barn throughout the fair, which runs until August 17.
In the Biggest Boar Competition, "Duke," weighing in at 1,268 pounds, was crowned champion. Brian Britt of Monticello showed the winning boar.
Heather Hora of Washington earned Reserve Champion honors with "Double Chocolate," a crossbred boar weighing 1,236 pounds.
Abby Willson of Shell Rock showed "J
