The historic Deluxe Liquor Store in downtown Spartanburg is set to open on August 9 under new ownership and a different name – Liquor Pointe.

Owner Raj Patel said he’s excited about the opening of his second Liquor Pointe location – the other is on Reidville Road near Highway 290 – because it will give him a presence downtown and additional space to serve both walk-in customers and restaurants in the area.

The old Deluxe store, located at the corner of Magnolia Street and Daniel Morgan Avenue, offers 3,200 square feet of retail space as well as a 4,000-square-foot basement for both store and distribution inventory.

As Patel explained, “This is a buying business – you have to be able to support the volume to give customers the best price possible.”
