Nick Saban and his ESPN “College GameDay” colleagues sent video messages to Lee Corso on his 90th birthday on Thursday.

The former Alabama coach said, “Coach, Corso, happy birthday to the real icon of college football and all you have created and all you’ve done”

The messages came on the same day ESPN announced it will air a one-hour tribute special to Corso .

“Not So Fast My Friend: A Lee Corso Special” will debut at 8 p.m. Central on Aug. 22 on ESPN. The special will re-air at midnight and 7 a.m. the following morning on ESPN2.

“You’re a legend, man,” McAfee said in the video. “From me and everything in this (bleeped) ocean, happy 90th birthday, brother. Cheers to many more.”

Last month, the ESPYs held an emotional tribute for Corso with Kirk Herbstreit, McAfee and Desmond Howar
