COLUMBIA, S.C. — The stretch of cool, cloudy weather we have been experiencing is not letting up just yet. Temperatures will stay below normal through the weekend, thanks to a persistent flow of cooler air from the north.
In fact, it has been so cool that we are now more than 150 hours into a rare August streak where temperatures have not hit 80 degrees, something that has only happened once before in Columbia’s recorded weather history.
Today is expected to stay mostly cloudy and cool once again, with highs likely stuck in the 70s to lower 80s. Some weather models suggest we might break out of the cloudy pattern and warm up a bit, but so far, those predictions have not worked out.
Light northeast winds will continue, and the area should stay dry through the day and overnight. Temperat
