UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Three suspects have been arrested in connection with multiple gang-related drive-by shootings in the Wingate area of Union County, authorities announced.

The Union County Sheriff's Office and Monroe Police Department investigated the shootings, which targeted occupied homes on Taylor Street and Neptune Way in Wingate earlier this month. No injuries were reported in either incident.

In the first shooting on Taylor Street, numerous rounds were fired into an occupied home. Days later, approximately 50 rounds were fired into a second home on Neptune Way, according to the press release.

Detectives from both agencies, working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, conducted extensive investigation
