The man accused of killing a traveling nurse in Willimantic in 2023 is due in court on Friday.

Michael Reese, a 40-year-old convicted sex offender, is suspected of killing 63-year-old Joyce Grayson.

Grayson, a visiting nurse and a mother of six, had an appointment to administer medication to Reese at his residence on Chapman Street in Willimantic, a halfway house for sex offenders, on the morning of Oct. 28, 2023.

That afternoon, Willimantic police received a call asking them to check on her after Grayson missed several patient appointments. The caller said Reese was Grayson’s first appointment of the day and there had been no contact with her since around 7:30 a.m., police said.
