A four-year-old boy has died after being hit by a bus outside the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.

Kent Police were called following reports of a crash involving a white single decker vehicle and a pedestrian on Ramsgate Road shortly after 4pm on Thursday (7 August).

Officers say the boy left the hospital on foot before the collision took place. The bus was travelling near the entrance to the A&E department.

The child was taken inside the hospital but confirmed dead a short while later.

A GoFundme page has been set up by Zaahir Jan's mother. It reads: "Hi my name is Azaria, today on the 7th of August 2025 me and my family went to visit our mum at margate hospital.

"And my son who is only 4 years old fell under a bus and he died immediately I am so lost he was
