BINGHAMTON N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - Spiedie Fest wrapped up last weekend with a new champion of the annual cooking contest.

The annual Spiedie Fest took place this past weekend highlighting Greater Binghamton's favorite sandwich. But for those like me who are new to the area, what exactly is a spiedie?

Spiedie Cooking Contest Champion Dustin Urban says, "A lot of people say it's just a cubed piece of meat that's marinated, but there's more to it than that. When you eat it and it's done right, it's you get that…hahaha"

Dustin Urban was a first-time entrant in the cooking contest, which is what many consider to be the most important part of the festival.
