DONALDS, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Greenwood County said a man will face attempted murder after SWAT was called to shots fired on Wednesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, a call came in at 6:56 p.m. in reference to a person shooting in an unsafe direction on Smith Street Extension. Upon arrival, a deputy was trying to find the complainant when they heard a gunshot and saw a man fall on the ground.

Officials said the deputy then moved his patrol car between the complainant and where the shot was hear from to shield them. The victim had appeared to have been grazed by a bullet.

Deputies went on to say a SWAT team was called and the made contact with the suspect, identified as 64-year-old Danny Doolittle, by phone where he surrendered.
