BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) - A series of severe thunderstorms swept across North Dakota late Thursday into Friday, bringing vivid lightning displays, large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall to communities across the state.

In Bismarck, residents captured dramatic footage of lightning illuminating the night sky as storms moved through the area. The National Weather Service reported hail ranging from 1 to 2 inches in diameter, with the largest report coming from Powers Lake, where hail measured 1.75 inches.
