Two people from Colchester, Vermont, were seriously injured when their pickup truck left the roadway and crashed into several trees in Williston, on Thursday afternoon.

State police say troopers responded around 1:19 p.m. to the single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 northbound near mile marker 83.6 and arrived to find a red Toyota Tacoma, that was totaled, with two people inside.

The driver, identified as 74-year-old Wayne Harms, and his passenger, identified as 64-year-old Liza Harms, were taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, police said.
