AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Augusta community members united to pray with one another for peace and rally against gun violence.
Days after a shooting on Meadowbrook Drive killed a 14-year-old and injured three others, people in Augusta came together to rally at the old Winn Dixie Plaza starting at around 6 p.m.
Leaders, including Mayor Garnett Johnson, said it’s a call for unity, peace and protection for the entire CSRA.
“I am sick and tired, have been sick and tired, of seeing these young black men laid in the roads, parking lots or fields with a sheet cover,” said Johnson.
