WASHINGTON — A passenger on board a Royal Caribbean ship was injured when part of a waterslide broke while they were on it.

The incident happened Thursday on the Icon of the Seas , which is currently the largest cruise ship in the world.

"Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through the slide," a Royal Caribbean spokesperson said in a statement. "The guest is being treated for his injuries. The water slide is closed for the remainder of the sailing pending an investigation.”

The slide, called "Frightening Bolt," is advertised as being the tallest drop slide at sea , featuring rushing water pushing guests down a plastic tube with transparent acrylic windows, into a pool below.
