A Michigan man died near the end of three-day Dead & Company concert series in California.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle , Fred Cothard, 54, of Constantine fell while dancing during the band’s set at Golden Gate Park on Aug. 3. No official cause of death was provided.

His partner, Jody Leddy, said in a Facebook post that they were enjoying the legendary band’s performance of “They Love Each Other” when he suffered a medical emergency. He died two hours later at a hospital, she added.

“I was holding him, talking to him about his kids, and kissing him until hours after the doctor pronounced him,” Leddy wrote alongside a photo of the couple. “This is the last photo of us, about two hours before he collapsed.”
