BATON ROUGE, La. — After Orleans Parish Criminal Court case files were , Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry has ordered the State Police to investigate.

In a letter sent Thursday to Louisiana State Police Superintendent Colonel Robert Hodges, Landry directed the agency to promptly begin the investigation in an effort to identify those responsible.

Landry said paperwork related to the matter will be sent to the state Attorney General’s Office.

“This incident represents significant risks to the integrity of our criminal justice system. The deliberate disposal of these sensitive documents undermines public trust and jeopardizes ongoing investigations and the protection of victims’ rights,” Governor Landry said in his letter.
