MINOT, ND (KXNET) - Minot State University has been awarded $480,000 over four years as part of a nearly $8 million grant from the National Science Foundation aimed at strengthening STEM education and research across North Dakota.

The funding is part of the SPARK-ND initiative, led by North Dakota State University and supported by 10 colleges and universities statewide. The program is designed to build a sustainable STEM ecosystem, particularly in rural and Tribal communities.

Minot State will focus on increasing STEM literacy and engagement through several new programs, including: • Bringing university faculty into middle and high school classrooms to lead hands-on science activities. • Offering research shadowing opportunities for students to observe real-world scientific work. •
