Julian Edelman’s take on the preseason Patriots : Former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was at the team’s training camp this week, observing the revamped coaching staff led by Mike Vrabel.

Given his former ties to the offense, Edelman commented on what he saw from Drake Maye and the system that his old coach, Josh McDaniels — now back as offensive coordinator — is re-installing.

“It seems like there’s a lot more cohesiveness this year. They look energized,” Edelman said of McDaniels in a recent episode of his “ Dudes on Dudes ” podcast that he co-hosts with fellow former Patriot, Rob Gronkowski.

On the subject of Maye, New England’s second-year quarterback, Edelman was optimistic.
