SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- San Francisco rescue swimmers pulled a person out of the bay Friday morning, according to fire officials.

The San Francisco Fire Department received a call at 7:25 a.m. reporting a male in the water near Pier 1 1/2. SFFD Rescue Boat 35 responded and rescue swimmers reached the victim within minutes. He was pulled out of the water by 7:35 a.m., according to officials.

The victim was transported to a hospital for evaluation.

It is unknown at this time how the person went into the water.
