NORMAN — Oklahoma asked a lot of offensive lineman Jacob Sexton last year.
With injuries around Sexton, the Sooners needed the Edmond native and Deer Creek product to jump around between right tackle, left tackle and left guard in the 2024 season.
As Southeastern Conference play wore on, Sexton and the O-line were getting blown up. South Carolina racked up nine sacks against OU, then Ole Miss had 10 the next week.
Sexton sustained a season-ending injury against Ole Miss and sat out the final five games of OU’s first year in the SEC.
But he was diligent with his offseason rehab and has been healthy at fall camp, taking snaps as the Sooners’ starting left tackle in the preseason.
