PURCELLVILLE, Va. — A woman is in the hospital after nearly drowning at a golf course in Purcellville Thursday afternoon. A Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said the woman was rescued by bystanders at the course.
Firefighters and sheriff's deputies were called to the course, located in the 36000 block of West Main Street in Purcellville around 1:30 p.m. for a report of a person in the water. Callers reported a woman was pinned in the water by an overturned golf cart.
Those at the course were able to pull her out of the water and started CPR until medical personnel arrived, according to spokesperson Leah Paul. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she is recovering. Her current condition is not known.
