First Baptist celebrates 160 years with concert, worship service

QUINCY — First Baptist Church celebrates its 160th anniversary Sunday with a special worship service.

Rev. Cecil Fletcher, pastor of Union Baptist Church in Quincy, will speak at the service which begins at 10:30 a.m. at the church at 739 North Eighth. A fellowship dinner follows the worship service.

In addition, an Anniversary Reunion Choir under the direction of Evangelist Vivian Wires, will offer a concert at 5 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist. Both the worship service and the choir concert are open to the public.

Rev. Orville Jones Jr. serves First Baptist, which works to reflect on the past and build toward an exceptional future together.
