ZEIGLER, Ill. (WSIL) -- One person was taken to the hospital and two others arrested in connection to an assault investigation in Zeigler on Thursday.

The Zeigler Police Chief Ben Burkhammer said police responded at 8 p.m. on August 7, to Orchard Street for a reported fight.

Two people were arrested. Burkhammer said the suspects are 20 and 24 year old men and were both charged with Aggravated Battery - Great Bodily Harm and Mob Action.

The suspects were taken to the Franklin County Jail while the victim was reportedly taken to the hospital for treatment.
