From the independent wine bars spilling out onto cobbled streets to the public swimming spots dotted along the pristine canals, attending Copenhagen Fashion Week in August as a world-weary Londoner really hits different.
This year was my second time attending the shows, and I found myself becoming familiar with the particular idiosyncrasies that define the Danish city and its homegrown design talent. Yet what always strikes me most is the fine line between the runway collections and street-style scene . This is, in part, due to the commercial kudos of the brands on the schedule – think of the likes of Rotate, Baum Und Pferdgarten, OpéraSport and Skall Studio, which, every season, deliver catwalk looks that are, for want of a better word, really quite wearable.
