‘Ryan Reynolds Lord Voldemort’ was a top trending topic on Google this morning.

A quick search on the two seemingly unrelated names yielded a number of prominent headlines proclaiming things like ‘Deadpool star confirmed as Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter.’

While Vancouver’s favourite Merc with a Mouth is the immediate name that would come to mind after reading such a statement … a deeper look into the matter (i.e., actually reading the full article rather than just the headline) paints a different picture.

The Deadpool actor who has actually been confirmed to join the new Harry Potter audiobook project as Lord Voldemort is not Reynolds. It’s Matthew Macfadyen (an actor best known to many as Mr. Darcy).
