SHREVEPORT, La. - With temperatures soaring into the 90s, and heat indexes pushing even higher, watering plants during the summer has become a critical task for gardeners across the region. Mark Wilson, an extension agent with the LSU AgCenter , shared essential tips on how to keep container plants healthy through the intense heat.
“One of the first things to remember is that not all pots are created equal,” Wilson explained. “Different materials—like ceramic, terracotta, plastic, and wood—affect how much heat the container retains and how quickly it dries out.”
