Nevada workers are seeing higher wages this year, but the state’s job growth is showing signs of strain.

In July, the median annual wage for Nevada's job‑stayers, workers who remained in the same role over the past year, rose to $52,400, a 4.9% increase from the prior year, according to a report by ADP .

Nationally, job-stayers saw a 4.4% pay increase, while job‑changers nationwide enjoyed a 7.0% gain. Nevada’s job‑changer growth rate wasn’t separately reported.

Job losses hit key sectors

Between May and June, Nevada lost 4,800 jobs , according to the state’s Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. The largest cuts were in government and construction, sectors known for seasonal fluctuations. But this summer’s drop was sharper than usual, according to DETR's Chief Eco
