GRAND COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - A two-vehicle head-on collision ended with one person dead and three others transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened around 5:40 p.m. on Highway 40, where a black Subaru Crosstrek crossed the center line and collided head-on with a silver Kia Sedan.
The driver of the Sedan was pronounced deceased on the scene, while two children in the car were flown by helicopter to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. The driver of Subaru, a 55-year-old woman, was flown to an area hospital for medical treatment, CPS stated.
CSP is leading the investigation into the crash.
This was the second fatal collision in Grand County. A family of five died Monday morning in a crash on Highway 9.
