Newton County Sheriff Colton Havard said Friday that his investigators have developed some leads in a drive-by shooting case on Sunday, August 3rd in which a man in a house was hit in the leg by a bullet. However, Havard said people who they believe have information about the suspect are refusing to talk.
It happened on Farm to Market Road 1416 between Bon Wier and Trout Creek. Multiple shots were fired from a passing vehicle and struck a house and vehicle in front of the house.
The victim had a non-life threatening injury and he was treated and released at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
