MONTPELIER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - A portion of State Street will be closed in the City of Montpelier for the United Motorcycles of Vermont Toy Run August 9.

Specifically, the area between Taylor Street and Governor Aiken Avenue will be fully closed to traffic in both directions from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Governor Aiken Avenue will maintain vehicle access, city officials say.

During this closure period, drivers should seek alternate routes and expect delays in the downtown area.

The event itself, hosted by United Motorcycles of Vermont, aims to raise money and bring toy donations to kids at Shriners Hospitals for Children. Additional details can be found here.
