A man died late Thursday, Aug. 7, in a crash on Mount Rose Highway, according to Nevada State Police.

About 11 p.m., troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on State Route 431 near Douglas Fir Drive. Investigators said a black SUV was headed north on the highway when it crossed into the southbound lane, hit a guardrail and came to rest on the southbound shoulder.

The man driving the SUV died at the scene. Two adult passengers were not injured.
