PHOENIX — A trucker who walked into the Phoenix office of his former employer armed with a shotgun has been sentenced to decades in an Arizona prison.
Zane Hammond, 34, was sentenced to 29 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder for an incident reported on Nov. 1, 2023 near Central Avenue and Watkins Street.
Hammond had been a commercial truck driver for a company based in the Valley. The defendant had quit his job following a minor dispute and drove from Tucson to Phoenix to confront the company's leadership, according to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.
Surveillance footage released by investigators shows the defendant walking into the office armed with a firearm and getting into a struggle with an employee.
