MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - RiversEdge West (REW) has been granted $10,000 from Alpine bank to support the Lunch and Learn and the Wellspring Project events, two outreach and education programs.

REW's mission to promote a healthy riparian ecosystem while engaging the community in their restoration efforts and stewardship, and this grant will help them do that.

The Wellspring project, which will use some of the grant, is a four-day, free summer program. Middle schoolers get the opportunity to combine environmental education, science, and art by talking with experts, hands-on field experiences, expressing creativity and exploring the Colorado River.
