GALATIA, Ill. (WSIL) -- Illinois State Police (ISP) officials are investigating a traffic crash on IL-34 involving an ISP trooper and a driver who was accused of failing to move over.
ISP said the incident happened on August 8, 2025, at around 5:08 a.m. when two ISP troopers were securing a crash scene with emergency lights activated. State police said at this time, a Ford Escape was going west when it struck a squad car.
ISP identified the driver as 66-year-old Sandra S. Kahl of Thompsonville, Ill. Both troopers were reportedly uninjured in the incident.
Kahl was cited for violating the Move Over Law and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
ISP has already recorded eight Move Over Law-related crashes in 2025.
