CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The first filing in Quinshon Judkins' domestic violence case since he posted bond last month occurred Aug. 7 in Broward County, Fla.,
Judkins' South Florida-based attorney, David S. Weinstein, filed a Waiver of Speedy Trial and Time for Filing Formal Charges motion in Broward County Court of Common Pleas . In the filing, the Browns ' second-round pick out of Ohio State acknowledges that, unless a waiver is granted, the State of Florida must file formal charges within 60 days of his July 12 arrest date.
The State would also have to conduct Judkins' trial within 175 days of formal charges being filed. If that were not to occur, without a waiver, he would have the right to demand that he be tried within 35 days.
