A Florence woman faces a $1.56 million bond after being indicted on 51 counts of identity theft and one count of theft of property, according to recently filed court documents.
Lauderdale County jail records show 37-year-old Ashley Nicole Phillips was arrested on Wednesday. This comes after her indictments were filed on July 21.
Documents reveal Phillips is accused of stealing property of Cash Express with a value of $2,500. She also allegedly used the identities of others with Cash Express accounts for her own financial gain.
According to the Florence Police Department, Phillips used those victims' information and forged signatures to open new loan contracts, then kept the money for herself.
Police say there are more than 45 victims at this time, and approximately $45,000 was reported
