MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis Police (MPD) on Tuesday responded to a car crash without a driver. According to a crash report, witnesses told police they saw a Nissan Maxima heading south on Airways Boulevard before the driver lost control and struck a tree. The car then split in half and exploded. Nikkarlos Neal was getting his car washed across the street when he saw it happen. He said he didn't expect the driver to be alive. "I was expecting body bags to come out when it happened," Neal said. Owner of Yep!! Car Wash, Marshall Chism, said he wasn't completely surprised by the accident. He said people speed through this area all the time. "Well, by being an industrial area with a lot of people coming through here, they're trying to get to work or whatever," Chism said. T
